Indoor Lemon Trees: Why They’re So Popular
Over the last few years, all aspects of indoor gardening have increased dramatically in popularity. And so, it’s no surprise that indoor fruit trees, and indoor lemon trees in particular, are so coveted.
Indoor Lemon Trees: Hardy And Prolific
When we first began growing indoor lemon trees over a decade ago, we didn’t know much about them. And that’s one of the beauties of these little trees … you don’t need to know a whole lot to enjoy success in growing ample amounts of fresh, juicy fruit.
In reality, indoor lemon trees are perfect for beginning gardeners, because their care requirements are so minimal. Yes, they do have some specific needs, but for the most part they really only need sunlight, water, and humidity.
Of course, advanced gardeners will appreciate an indoor lemon tree for their beauty and fragrance. You’ll be particularly pleased with the light, pleasant tropical fragrance of your tree. It’s probably about the best natural air freshener available!
Best of all is the fruit yield. When indoor lemon trees are shipped, they aren’t quite ready to yield fruit right away. Like most plants, they’ll need to adapt to their surroundings and mature a bit. Typically, your tree will begin to fruit somewhere between nine and fifteen months after it arrives. Your patience will be rewarded!
Once your tree starts to yield fruit, you can usually expect two solid crops of lemons per year, once in the spring and again in the late summer or early fall. The fruit will be the same size as store bought lemons, but noticeably sweeter and with very few (or any) seeds.
You can learn all the in’s and outs of indoor lemon tree care from our downloadable ebook, available for less than $10 from the right hand upper corner of this page. In the book, you’ll find everything you need to know about buying and caring for any type of indoor fruit tree imagineable.
Finally, if you’re planning to buy an indoor lemon tree, be sure you don’t overpay. You can (during most times of the year) have an indoor lemon tree delivered right to your door for about $20 or less!
